CraigS Wins Week 18, Ravi Rallies for Title

Wow, what a finish to the season!

CraigS waited until the last week of the year to score his second-highest total of the season. Craig posted a 398 thanks to a lineup featuring Jackson, Mayfield, B. Robinson, Gibbs, Herbert, Chase, Little and the Ravens D.

Tom rallied Sunday Night to score a 393 and take second place, thanks to a lineup led by Jackson, Mayfield, B. Robinson, Chase, Thomas Jr., Nabers, Karty and the Ravens D.

This is CraigS‘ second weekly win of the season and Tom‘s second payday of 2024. Congratulations to CraigS and Tom on finishing the season strong.

The Rookie Report:
In the final week, Beth came in fourth to claim the final weekly bragging rights among this year’s rookie owners. The next time we compete, she’ll be a sophomore owner. Congrats on a strong inaugural season Beth.

The Leaderboard:
The season finale resulted in the most dramatic finish in the league since 2010, when an owner won the bonus in the final week and unseated the incumbent leader.

After taking the lead from Ravi in Week 12, Troy had held the top spot for six consecutive weeks, until the end.

Ravi scored a 369 to TroyA‘s 317 to retake the lead in the final week of 2024.

Congratulations to Ravi on winning his first league title.

1. Ravi (5102)
2. TroyA (5081)
3. Trent (5060)
4. JohnK. (4981)

6. CraigS (4949)
7. Beth (4938)
Tom (4904), Eric (4883), and RandyH (4858), round out the Top 10.

In the end, Trent held on to third, while I slipped ahead of David for fourth, CraigS solidified sixth, and rookie owner Beth claimed the final money spot.

Congratulations to all on your strong showings this season, and especially Ravi on his successful come-from-behind victory.

David Ends Year on High Note

First off, how many of you were thinking about playing Drew Lock in Week 17? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Despite not playing Lock, David was able to blow past the 400-point mark in the penultimate week, posting a 431 thanks to a lineup led by Daniels, Mayfield, Gibbs, Chase, Nabers, Bowers, Bates and the Eagles D.

Beth was fast on his heals with a 400, thanks to roster featuring Allen, Mayfield, Gibbs, Spears, Chase, Thomas Jr. , Nabers, Bowers, Karty and the Dolphins D.

This is David‘s first weekly win since Week 8 of last season, and Beth‘s fourth payday of her rookie campaign. Very impressive. Congrats to David and Beth on their strong showings in Week 17.

The Rookie Report:
As mentioned above, Beth does it again, taking second place for the second time this season, along with two weekly wins. Way to go Beth.

The Leaderboard:
Oh, wow, do we have a race coming right down to the wire. Troy rallied on Monday night to hold onto his overall lead, but with less than 60 points between him and third place, the door is open for Ravi and Trent. Can they prevent the three-peat? David‘s big week helped him climb into fourth, while I fell to fifth and Beth and Eric surged into the final two money spots.
1. TroyA (4764)
2. Ravi (4733)
3. Trent (4704)
4. David (4650)

6. Beth (4565),
7. Eric (4556),
CraigS (4552), Mr. Eames (4535)  and RandyH (4516), round out the Top 10.
This is going to be one of our closest finishes in a long while, and while I will never underestimate Troy, Ravi and Trent have some pretty high scores that could come into play if they nail the finale. Good luck to all.

Christmas Comes Early for CarlP

In a week that featured eight owners topping 400 points, three owners were north of 475, but only two can take home prize money.

My fellow Steelers fan CarlP popped a 489 to win the week, thanks to a lineup led by Burrow, Mayfield, B. Robinson, Conner, Ford, Spears, Jefferson, Lamb, Aubrey and the Packers D.

Former league champ Dennis came oh so close with a 481, thanks to a roster featuring Burrow, Mayfield, Barkley, Conner, Ford, Spears, Chase, Lamb, Aubrey and the Packers D.

Which leaves Mr. Eames with a 476, a score that in any other week but one, would have easily won the week, but this time around amounted to nothing. Unbelievable.

This is Carl‘s first weekly win since Week 7 of the 2022 season and Dennis‘ first payday since closing out the last two weeks of 2023 with weekly wins. Congrats to Carl and Dennis on their dominating performances this week.

The Rookie Report:
In week 16, Chad (336) edged Beth by one point (335) to win bragging rights for the week. . Congrats Chad and Beth on another strong week.

Andrew Holds off Mr. Eames

On Saturday night when he emailed his lineup, Andrew indicated he was going to put his team on automatic pilot from here on out … and promptly scored a 375 to win the week.

Andrew‘s team was led by Allen, Herbert, B. Robinson, Charbonnet, J. Hill, Chase, Adams, Nabers, and Elliott.

Mr. Eames (372) was the runner up, thanks to a lineup led by Burrow, Herbert, B. Robinson, Conner, Charbonnet, J. Hill, Chase, Adams, Elliott and the Ravens D.

This is Andrew‘s first weekly win since Week 4 of 2023 and his second payday of the season. It’s Mr. Eames‘ second payday of the 2024 campaign. Congrats to Mr. “Let it Ride” Andrew and Mr. Eames on their Week 15 success.

The Rookie Report:
In week 15, Chad (323) finished in tenth place overall, which helped him win another week versus his fellow rookie owners. Congrats Chad  on a strong week.

CraigS Tops 500 Points

What a week for offense!!! If your team wasn’t over 400 points, you weren’t in the conversation.

Eighteen teams scored over 400, with 23 owners recording their season high in Week 14.

And when all the tabulations and calculations were done, CraigS stands above the fray with a 508. His lineup featured Allen, Tagovailoa, Barkley, Brown, Guerendo, Charbonnet, Chase, Watson, and Bates.

Coming in second was DaveT, thanks to a roster that scored 466 points, led by Burrow, Darnold, Barkley, Pollard, Dowdle, Charbonnet, Jefferson, Smith-Njigba, Jeudy, and Wright.

This is Craig‘s first weekly win since Week 12 of 2022 and DaveT‘s first payday since Week 13 of 2021. I should also mention that CraigS was the very first owner in league history to top 500 points back in the 1999 campaign when he scored 576. He was also league champion in 2001.

Congrats to CraigS and DaveT on their impressive scores in Week 14.

The Rookie Report:
In recent weeks, Beth is running away with the weekly bragging rights. Not only did she win Week 14 with a 433, but check out the leaderboard below. Quite the inaugural campaign. Way to go Beth!

Beth Edges Tom in Week 13

Rookie owner Beth’s players feasted on the opposition in Week 13, resulting in a 389 to win the week. Her lineup featured Jackson, Tagovailoa, Barkley, Irving, Dowdle, Chase, Smith-Njigba, McConkey, Kelce and Dicker.

Coincidentally, she barely edged her partner, Tom, who posted a 386, but came up just shy. Tom‘s lineup was led by Hurts, Nix, Gibbs, Irving, Dowdle, Chase, Sutton, McConkey, Bowers, Bates and the Broncos D.

This is Beth‘s second weekly win and third pay day of the season and Tom‘s first payday since Week 16 of 2021. Congrats to Beth and Tom on their strong performances in Week 13.

The Rookie Report:
As mentioned above, Beth continues to outpace the competition among the first-year owners.

The Leaderboard:
Another week, another reshuffle of the standings. Defending champ TroyA holds serve and extends his lead, while Trent moves into second, edging Ravi. I hold steady in fourth, while Eric indeed made his move, (on his new replacement hip no less) climbing three spots. And the husband and wife duo of David and Kerry are separated by a single point.
1. TroyA (3348)
2. Trent (3250)
3. Ravi (3239)
4. JohnK. (3167)
5. Eric (3153)
6. Kerry (3152)
7. David (3151)
Beth (3135) CraigS (3133), and Tom (3089) round out the Top 10.

Two couples are in the hunt on the leaderboard.

As a veteran watcher of this league, I’ll throw out this prediction: The biggest wildcards down the stretch are those owners who already have a 400+ (or high 300) point week to their credit. They are one big week from making a dramatic move: (Beth, Major, Mike, RandyH and Ernesto).

Major Has Much to Be Thankful For

Last week, I congratulated Major for welcoming a new addition to his family. This week the new dad earned weekly bragging rights, thanks to a 396. Major‘s lineup was led by L. Jackson, Tua, Barkley, Dowdle, Warren, AJ Brown, Ridley, and Bates.

David takes second, with a 377, thanks to a lineup featuring Daniels, Nix, Barkley, Warren, Smith-Njigba, Bates and the Dolphins D.

This is Major‘s first weekly win since Week 5 of the 2020 campaign, and David‘s first pay day since Week 8 last season. Congrats to Major and David on their strong performances in Week 12.

Believe it or not, with the end of Week 12, the NFL season is now two-thirds over. Man, time flies.

The Rookie Report:
In week 12, Beth (346) earned bragging rights among the newbies, but Rose (328), Bridget (323) and Chad (306) all topped 300 points to finish in the Top 20. Wow!!! Congrats Beth  on a strong week.

The Leaderboard:
Uh-oh! After seven weeks at the top … Ravi‘s luck ran out. TroyA took advantage of a rare off week from Ravi to make his move. Trent held steady in third, and is within striking distance of second. I climbed two spots to sneak just ahead of Kerry who fell to fifth, just three points ahead of her husband David who streaks into the Top 10. CraigS remains in seventh, but look who has started to make his annual move (Eric) toward the money spots.

Commish Earns Week 11 Win

Every Sunday morning, I send out our lineups, just in case. In Week 11, turns out I was showing everyone the winning roster.

My team popped a 434 thanks to a lineup led by Purdy, Barkley, Montgomery, Tay. Hill, Jefferson, McConkey, Bowers, Boswell and the Vikings D.

Mike is runner up this week, with a 400, thanks to a lineup featuring Burrow, Barkley, Hall, Tay Hill, Chase, Pickens, Jennings, Fairbairn and the Lions D.

This is my first weekly win since Week 10 of the 2021 season, and Mike‘s first payday since Week 5 of the 2022 campaign. Congrats to Mike on his strong showing in Week 11.

It’s rare that we give a nod to the owner who finished dead last for the week, but a huge shout out to former league champ Major, who welcomed a baby boy this week. Congratulations Major on that awesome news!!!

RandyH Roars Back WithWeek 10 Victory

When he sent in his picks this week, RandyH lamented that he hadn’t topped 300 points in the league in a month. Well, good news Randy, the sub-300 streak is over.

Randy‘s Week 10 team featured Burrow, Tracy, Chase, Kittle, Bates, and the Vikings D to post a 394.

Runner-up was CarlP, who scored a 390, thanks to a lineup led by Allen, Conner, White, Chase, Pickens, Kittle and Karty.

This is RandyH‘s second weekly win of the season, and CarlP‘s first payday since Week 9 a year ago. Congrats to RandyH and CarlP on their strong Week 10 showings.

Results Are In: Beth Ekes Out Victory

The Chiefs and Bucs put on a show on Monday Night football, and the outcome of our league hung in the balance.

In the end, Beth prevailed 395 to 394 as Hunt and Kelce piled up second half points. Beth might have run away with it, had her lineup included an active player in Box E, but it all worked out in the end.

Beth‘s lineup was led by L. Jackson, Cousins, Barkley, B. Robinson, Jefferson, Z. Flowers, Kelce, Tucker and the Bengals D.

I took second, with a 394, thanks to Week 9 lineup featuring L. Jackson, Cousins, Barkley, B. Robinson, Hunt, Jefferson, Hill, Mooney, Aubrey and the Vikings D.

This is Beth‘s first weekly win ever, and it took her only nine weeks to do it, and my first pay day since Week 10 of the 2021 campaign. Congrats to Beth on the strong showing in Week 9.

The Rookie Report:
Beth becomes the first rookie owner to win a week in the 2024 season. After nine weeks, Beth, Chad and Rose each have three weekly wins among the rookies to their credit.
